Norma’s NXD (Non-eXpanding Defensive) is a revolutionary approach to self-defense ammunition that throws the traditional hollow point playbook out the window. Instead of relying on expansion and mushrooming, the NXD uses a 65-grain injection-molded copper/polymer matrix projectile with a patent-pending fluted design to deliver devastating terminal performance through fluid dynamics.

How it works: upon impact with soft tissue, the fluted projectile channels fluid at roughly 1.5–2x the initial impact velocity, redirecting it into surrounding tissue via a powerful hydrodynamic ram effect. The result is faster, more efficient energy transfer and a larger permanent wound cavity than conventional hollow points — without the risk of clogging from clothing or other barriers that can defeat traditional JHP designs.
